Coral Reef Regeneration

Corals have been used for regenerative medicine of mammalian bone repair, but there exists an opportunity to explore the alternative: the use of regenerative medicine principles for coral repair. Coral reefs are an essential component of a healthy marine ecosystem and climate change has devastated reefs, with over 60% decline to present date. We plan to develop biomaterials using regenerative medicine techniques for repair and regeneration of coral reefs.
