Catherine Zhu

Catherine is a third-year undergraduate at UC Santa Barbara pursuing a B.S. in Cellular and Developmental Biology and a professional certification in Technology Management. In the Dewey Lab, she is exploring the roles of matrix bound nanovesicles in the osteosarcoma tumor microenvironment, as well as investigating the potential of antibiotic-loaded extracellular vesicles to eradicate biofilms. Her research is funded through the California Institute of Regenerative Medicine (CIRM) COMPASS program. Once graduating from UC Santa Barbara, she hopes to pursue a PhD. In her free time, Catherine enjoys being active and trying new restaurants.
